Why Claude through Copilot? Anthropic and OpenAI do not yet have a partner channel in our region: a company can only pay them directly by card, without a local contract or support. The same models — inside your tenant
Under the hood of Microsoft 365 Copilot are OpenAI and Anthropic models, including the heavy reasoning ones. Users pick the model per task — Claude Opus or GPT-5.6 — or let Copilot choose automatically. You pay a fixed price per user, not per token. Prompts and responses stay within your Microsoft 365 boundary and are not used to train foundation models.
Governance and security you already run
Copilot inherits Microsoft 365 permissions — a user only gets answers from files they can already open. Sensitivity labels, DLP and Purview policies apply to AI too, and the administrator decides what goes into the model. Personal ChatGPT or Claude subscriptions cannot give you this at all.
Bought through a channel you already trust
Microsoft has a mature partner channel; OpenAI and Anthropic do not have one here yet. Copilot is bought like the rest of Microsoft 365: local partner, distributor, contract, closing documents and the usual tender procedure. For corporate procurement this is often the deciding factor — you win not on product alone, but on the ability to buy it properly.

In Copilot Studio you can build agents on Claude Sonnet or Opus — an HR assistant, IT helpdesk or invoice classifier — connected to your knowledge base and business systems.
The model line-up is managed by Microsoft and is updated as new versions are released; availability of individual models may depend on your region and tenant settings.

Copilot Chat is free. Claude is not in it.
Every Microsoft 365 user already has Copilot Chat. It is a safe web chat — but without the advanced models, without access to your mail and files, and without AI inside the apps. That is what the paid licence adds.
Enterprise data protection applies when users sign in with their work account (Entra ID).

Against the alternatives

No. Anthropic does not have a partner channel in our region, so Claude subscriptions are bought only directly at claude.ai. We give companies access to Claude models through Microsoft 365 Copilot — with a contract, invoice and support.
Is it the same Claude as on claude.ai?
Copilot uses Anthropic's Claude Opus and Claude Sonnet models. The interface and tools are Microsoft's — Copilot Chat, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Researcher, Copilot Studio — and the exact model versions are managed by Microsoft.
Is our data used to train the models?
No. Prompts, responses and data accessed through Microsoft Graph are not used to train foundation models, and Copilot respects your Microsoft 365 permissions, labels and DLP policies.
Is there a token limit, as in personal subscriptions?
Copilot is licensed per user at a fixed monthly price — you are not billed per token. Microsoft applies fair-use policies; only the optional Copilot Cowork agent is billed by actual usage, with a budget you set.
Do we need to change our Microsoft 365 plan?
For Standard and Premium the simplest path is the same plan “with Copilot”, a +$9.50–10 surcharge per user. On Business Basic you add Copilot Business. We will check your tenant and suggest the cheapest option.
In what currency is the invoice and how do we pay?
The invoice is issued in USD, because Microsoft prices are in dollars. You pay in lei from your usual MDL account at the MAIB currency purchase rate on the payment date, and the tax invoice (factura fiscală) is issued in lei.
Can we license Copilot for only part of the staff?
Yes. Licences are assigned per user — start with the teams that got the most value in the trial and expand gradually.
We have more than 300 users. What then?
Copilot Business and the bundles are limited to tenants of up to 300 seats. Above that, the option is full Microsoft 365 Copilot ($30 list price); we calculate these cases individually.
What happens after the 30-day trial?
By default a CSP trial turns into a paid subscription after 30 days. We go through the results with you before then: if you don’t continue, we cancel it before the trial ends — nothing is billed.
